In this segment, Dr. Oommen discusses a new study that talks about how taking a baby aspirin per day for primary prevention – preventing your FIRST heart attack or stroke- could potentially have more risks than benefits for older ( >70 years old), otherwise healthy people. We all love junk food, whether we eat some once in a while, or whether we eat it every single day. Be that as it may, what happens when you stop indulging in junk food for a few days? What does this phenomena qualify under? Is it an addiction, is it a habit or is it just a desire? In this segment, Dr. Oommen discusses a new research describing what happens when people stop eating highly processed foods. Some might compare it to when a person stops smoking, others compare it to alcohol and drugs. Here Dr. Oommen talks about how junk food withdrawal is actually proven to be like cocaine withdrawal.
